Hopefully this looks better. I'll have more to post soon.

Food Sprites

Food sprites for the DLC pack. That last one's supposed to be a potato... might have to work on making it a little more clear.

More Promotional Stuff

Some website design ideas. The first one would play like a mini demo of the game, and the way you navigate would be to move Eat Boy around. The second one is just a simple website.

Made a little demo and put it up here.

Plus a poster, still working on it some, though.

Marketing Plan

  • Game is free to download and use on mobile device/computer
  • Initial game comes with basic body/levels and the basic set of foods
  • Restaurants give away a code to download extra items/foods/levels to people who buy certain items from their menu
    • Prize with McDonald's Happy Meal (example: Neopets Happy Meal Rare Item Virtual Prize Code)
    • Can either be with all Happy Meals, or to promote healthy message, you only get the prize if you order Apple Dippers instead of fries
  • Others that might work with this plan: Burger King, Subway, Jamba Juice, Del Taco, etc.
  • Also, HappyMeal.com, ClubBK.com have games to play, plus trailers, downloads, activities (coloring pages). Put up demo to play there.

My Answers

1. Mission/Vision: A fun, accessible game available to kids everywhere that also teaches good eating habits without being didactic.

2. Promise/Tagline: Food. Fun. Facts. or Eating Right in the Face of Adversity.

3. To teach kids about diabetes in a way they will actually want to learn.

4. Teaches players about healthy eating habits/meal plannin, also a fun experience. For sponsors: possible source of income through extra purchasable items/levels/etc. Also, helps promote healthy message.

5. It looks and plays like a traditional platformner with the educational aspects integrated directly into the gameplay, so players don't have to feel like they're playing just another boring educational game.

Edit: plus some more...

Environment Concept

This is what I've got for now. I tried to make it recognizable as the pancreas (not that the average person would know what the pancreas looks like), with those bulbous things (apparently called islets of Langerhans) as the houses and an extra big one at the end for the castle. They probably need to be modified a bit to be more recognizable as buildings, but that was the idea anyway.

Food

Here are the food items that I've finished so far. I'm still working on the tileable texture, but I thought I'd post these up in the meantime.

EDIT: Added a few more.

Some Items

So I thought I'd try out doing some of the food items. I wasn't exactly sure what size they should be, but I made them all 32x32 pixels (hopefully that's right). Also, I was mostly just experimenting with all the dithering and whatnot, so if anyone has any tips to make them better, I'd be glad to hear them. But if everything is okay, I can start working on some more.
